I’ve presented workshops on a variety of subjects over the past dozen or so years that I keep thinking I should post here, so here goes:
- Final Cut Pro and Premiere Pro tutorials
Two of the most common video editors out there; we can cover the fundamentals of importing footage, making cuts and adding additional layers of media, and exporting. Color correction and sound design can also be covered. - DIY video
Tips on creating the best production on a low, or no, budget. - Video 101
These workshops can cover a wide range of topics: tips on how to interview subjects, knowing the composition rules (before you break them), the importance of good sound, lighting fundamentals, finding the story, when to cut, how to pace, which software might be used for your project, multimedia resources that can be used for free, and more. - Using Garageband
Garageband seems simple, but is a very versatile program with a ton of great midi and pre-recorded samples to start off music projects on. - Audio editing
This session covers the fundamentals of audio, and how to use a few good audio editing programs. - Using WordPress
There are a number of tips on how to make your website/blog even better that I’ve collected over the decade I’ve been working with this program. - Using VR
I’ve been attending workshops and conference sessions over the years, and have led several workshops and classes on using VR for academic purposes and for entertainment. VR is constantly evolving in leaps and bounds, and is a fun challenge to keep up to date with the current trends.
